Promoviendo el acceso a la atención de salud de mujeres y niños migrantes en América Latina / Promoting Access to Health Care for Women and Child Migrants in Latin America

Dentro de la región de América Latina y el Caribe, las mujeres y los niños en contextos de alta migración carecen de suficiente protección social en salud y enfrentan barreras para acceder a la atención médica cuando la necesitan. Son particularmente vulnerables a los factores que impulsan la migración, como los disturbios civiles, la violencia de género, la persistente inseguridad alimentaria provocada por el cambio climático y la pérdida de medios de subsistencia.

Únase a LHSS y la Red de Protección Social P4H para escuchar a las instituciones locales, nacionales y regionales que trabajan para promover la protección social de la salud para mujeres y niñez en contextos de alta migración. Los panelistas compartirán sus puntos de vista sobre los retos más destacados a la hora de ampliar la protección social de salud y discutirán estrategias para fortalecer la articulación y la promoción del cambio político.

Within the Latin American and Caribbean region, women and children in high migration contexts lack sufficient social health protection and face barriers to accessing health care when they need it. They are particularly vulnerable to factors that drive migration such as civil unrest, gender-based violence, persistent climate-driven food insecurity, and loss of livelihood.

Join LHSS and the P4H Network as we hear from local, national, and regional institutions working to advance social health protection for women and children in high migration contexts. Panelists will share their perspectives on the most prominent challenges to expanding social health protection and discuss strategies to strengthen collaboration and advocacy for policy change.
