LHSS Jordan and the Jordan Medical Council Celebrate Institutionalization of the Adult Critical Care Fellowship Program

The Jordan Medical Council (JMC), in collaboration with LHSS Jordan, celebrated the Institutionalization of the Adult Critical Care Fellowship Program.  

The program equips practitioners with the knowledge and expertise necessary to elevate the standards of critical care through comprehensive training. Implemented over two years, the program included in-person educational rounds, clinical hands-on boot camps, grand rounds, and online training in adult and pediatric ICU topics. The program trained 33 fellows representing MOH, RMS, JUH and KHCC.

His Excellency Minister of Health and President of the JMC, Professor Firas Hawari stated in his speech during the honoring ceremony that this achievement is a shining example of dedication in the history of the Jordan Medical Council and contributes to the crucial role it plays in the development of the medical sector in Jordan. 

“This initiative emerged from significant challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and managed to solve an important question which is what were the specializations required, while also identifying the necessary training and examinations and success criteria,” he said.

The intensivists who graduated from the program will act as core instructors for future fellowship training programs and will transfer their knowledge and expertise to new cohorts enrolled in the subsequent fellowship programs.

Secretary General of the JMC, Dr. Mohammad Al Abdallat, highlighted the critical role of the program in preparing fellows for board certification and improving their clinical skills. "The success of the Adult Critical Care Fellowship Program is a clear indication of the high level of commitment and professionalism demonstrated by our fellows and the support from our partners. The JMC is proud to be part of this initiative, which not only prepares our physicians for board certification but also enhances their clinical skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting the healthcare system in Jordan," he said.

The comprehensive nature of the program ensured that fellows received diverse and extensive training, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in their field. This comprehensive approach not only improved their practical abilities but also fostered a deeper understanding of critical care practices through research and continuous learning.
