The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) facilitated a workshop in June 2024 to estimate and map health and HIV expenditures using a combined System of Health Accounts and National AIDS Spending Assessment resource tracking approach. The exercise aims to simultaneously estimate both health and HIV spending for the period 2020-21 to 2022-23, generating critical information on the total amount of resources available for health and HIV, the sources of this financing, how the funds are managed, what the funds are spent on, and who ultimately benefits from the spending. This information is critical for policymaking, program management, and decisions around sustainable financing for health and the HIV response.

In Namibia, support provided by LHSS focuses on ensuring sound and accurate data, while working collaboratively to enhance the country's local capacity and processes to institutionalize resource tracking for the routine generation of this information.
